A Day of Healing, Hope, and Connection: Destiny Dads Community Resource Fair 2025 Was a Resounding Success!
At Damascus Way, we’ve walked alongside individuals and families impacted by incarceration for over fifty years. Our mission has always been to break the cycle of multigenerational incarceration and substance use by empowering individuals and families with the tools, support, and community they need to build new pathways forward.
On Sunday, June 29, 2025, that mission came to life in a powerful way at Lions Park in Shakopee.
With the sun shining and heat radiating, the park came alive with families, volunteers, and partner organizations all united for one purpose: to support and strengthen those experiencing hardship from the impact of justice involvement, substance use or incarceration. Special thanks to our community partners Canvas Health Scott County Mobile Crisis Response, Destiny Dads, Destiny Way, Family Resource Center of Scott County, NAMI, North Star Regional, Scott County Housing, Scott County Health and Human Services, Scott County Child Support, Scott County Public Health, Southern Valley Alliance, and Damascus Way E3 Recovery Services.
Over the course of the afternoon, as many as 150 attendees connected with 10 community partner organizations providing critical resources—from housing support and job training to mental health services, recovery programs, and youth mentorship.
As we look forward to next year’s event please feel free to share your thoughts on how we can improve this experience.
Thank you for being part of our first annual Community Resource Fair!
