The Damascus Way Board of Directors is thrilled to announce and welcome Demetrius Chester into the position of the new board chair! This comes following Demetrius’ previous service to the board as treasurer over the last year and as a board member since 2020. Demetrius took the time to offer some insight into who he is and what he is excited about in this new season of life as Damascus Way continues to grow and mature as a statewide organization. Here is what he had to say:
“My name is Demetrius Chester and I am a native of St. Paul Minnesota. I attended undergraduate school in St. Cloud and after becoming a husband to my amazing wife and father to my beautiful daughter, decided to make the city of Golden Valley my home. Needless to say God was up to something… Shortly after moving to Golden Valley the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors at Damascus Way presented itself. My wife and I are firm believers in giving back to the community and sharing the gentle love of God with many. This is an exciting time to be a part of Damascus Way. Our organization has expanded and grown significantly without compromising its powerful mission and commitment to Christ. As Board Chair I am excited to work closer with an amazing group of fellow Board Members and Staff who I believe are making an amazing impact on the lives of the population we serve. As the new chair my goals are focused on driving the organization towards success, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and ensuring strong governance practices. I am beyond humbled and thankful for the opportunity to serve and aid Damascus Way in continuing to make a difference in the lives of many.”
