Event Announcement!

Damascus Way is excited to announce an upcoming event held in partnership with Amazon and Together We Can (an organization working to end child abuse and neglect in Scott County). This event will spotlight the launch of our new fatherhood programming support services in Scott County, “Destiny Dads.” This program will provide various services with the vision of enriching, empowering and equipping parents. In tandem with the launch of Destiny Dads, this event will promote a back to school “Backpack Giveaway” for families with school-age kids. With the support of Amazon and TWC, this event will provide hundreds of backpacks with school supplies to families from the Scott County community.
The Backpack Giveaway will take place on Thursday August 18th from 3-6pm at the Lions Park Pavilion in Shakopee, MN.
For families interested in attending and collecting backpacks, note that registration is required. Families can sign-up one of two ways:
  • Online! Parents can fill out the Survey Monkey link on their own (you can text or email this out) https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/scottcobackpacks
  • At the Family Resource Centers! FRC staff can help register families—this is a great option if families need some language navigation. Check the FRC website for cultural navigation hours!
